CT ABC is dedicated to doing our part to help provide our members and the entire construction industry with a highly skilled workforce. Construction Career Day is designed with the vision of showcasing careers in construction to high school students and promoting the industry's image through career days, safety seminars, hands on demonstrations, and networking between contractors.
During the 2024 one-day event nearly 800 students came to the New Life Church Wallingford Campus to participate in the CT ABC Construction Career Days. The event has proven to be a very popular event for high school students and young adults. This event featured numerous hands-on, interactive exhibits both indoors and outdoors. The hands-on exhibits included a crane simulator, skid steers, excavators, United Illuminating utility poles, masonry wall building, tile cutting, sheet metal, a variety of power tools, fire suppression…and the list goes on! Each student received a hard hat, safety goggles, and a back pack upon entry to the event.
This event would not be possible without the help of our members, the staff, our incredible team of volunteers, participating associations and our sponsors. It is truly a team effort.
